Three competitions featuring Special Olympics athletes will take place this Saturday, February 3, 2024:
- First of all, Stage 1 of swimming organized in collaboration with the ARLPHL will take place at the Center Récréoaquatique in Blainville. Swimmers from across Quebec are expected to compete in the morning between 9:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m.
- Then, our Team Quebec 2024 representative in speed skating, Philip Ste-Marie, will join the Liliane Lambert #3 competition at the Camillien-Houde Arena in Montreal. This event will serve as preparation for Philip for the Special Olympics Canada 2024 Winter Games in Calgary.
- Finally, the Joliette local section will welcome 10 teams from Quebec to Thérèse-Martin High School for our 2023-2024 Provincial Indoor Hockey Championship. Representatives from Floorball Canada will also be on hand to demonstrate the sport to the athletes. The competition starts at 9 a.m. and ends at 4:30 p.m.
A big thank you to all the volunteers who will be involved and good luck to all the athletes!
Note that we are always looking for volunteers for all our sports, almost everywhere in Quebec. If you also want to make a difference in the lives of Special Olympics Quebec athletes, please consult the “Volunteers” section.
