Special Olympics Québec athletes from the Turin Games welcomed at the National Assembly

Last Wednesday, October 22, a delegation from Special Olympics Québec was received at the National Assembly. Six athletes, one coach, and one mission staff member were welcomed by National Assembly President Nathalie Roy. This delegation was part of the Canadian team at the World Games in Turin.

Accompanied by Special Olympics Québec Board Chair Daniel Granger, athletes Jessica Larivée, Shelby St-Hilaire, Audrey Larose-Rapin, Christopher LeBlanc, Rachelle Parent, Océane Rajotte, coach Serge Gagnon, and mission staff member Ashley Filadelfi were applauded by members of the National Assembly in the Blue Room. They visited the Parliament Building and then attended a recognition ceremony during which Océane Rajotte and Daniel Granger gave speeches.

Isabelle Charest, Minister responsible for Sport, Recreation and Outdoor Activities, Enrico Ciccone, Member of Parliament for Marquette, and Yannic Gagnon, Member of Parliament for Jonquière, were present at the ceremony.

Congratulations to the athletes and thank you to the members of the National Assembly.
