The Special Olympics Quebec Community congratulates Daniel Granger

Montreal, June 21, 2023 – The entire Special Olympics Québec community would like to congratulate Daniel Granger, Chairman of the Board of Directors, who was made a Knight of the Ordre national du Québec today at the National Assembly. Mr. Granger’s unwavering commitment to the organization over many years is remarkable and incomparable.

Already a member of the Order of Canada, Daniel Granger is now a Knight of the Ordre national du Québec. This is in recognition of the values of mutual aid, social inclusion, and altruism that he cherishes and promotes.

« Daniel Granger is one of those rare individuals who give their all to help those who too often remain in the shadows. He has been involved with Special Olympics Québec for over 20 years and has made and continues to make an outstanding contribution to the social inclusion of people with intellectual disabilities,” says Francine Gendron, the organization’s Executive Director. For all these years, Daniel has taken this cause to every level and made it shine out in all spheres of society. We are delighted that his dedication has now been recognized by the Quebec government. This distinction confirms his place among the great human beings of our society. »

Trained as a lawyer, Daniel Granger has over 30 years’ experience as a communications executive and consultant. He worked for Hydro-Québec, first as a lawyer, then as Manager of Environment and Government Relations and Director of Communications and Public Relations, before joining Teleglobe as Vice President, Public Affairs. In 2020, he received the Philip A. Novikoff Memorial Award from the Canadian Public Relations Society in recognition of his contribution. Daniel Granger was also a member of the Board of Directors of Special Olympics Canada.

The ceremony took place today in the Salon rouge of the National Assembly in Quebec City, where 34 personalities were named or promoted to the Ordre national du Québec.
